This home/business had to be designed for both uses. The site is located in a hidden corner of a court and has limited street frontage, which faces north. This creates vast constraints to the open plan living, privacy open space and street identity.

The design was to be a tamed contemporary design, importantly the family home and business need to function alongside each other. The unusually shaped floor plan identifies all issues and provides the owners with perfect solar access, privacy and resort style living.

The result is a very liveable family home combined with a business aspect. The solution is an interesting 'U' - shape design which has rectified inherent problems associated with this shape, such as long passageways, confined courtyards and dead corner pockets.
